If you ask Kuantanians for the best Nasi Lemak, Zaman restaurant is the widely recommended by the locals. The hot steaming fragrance coconut-milk rice with red hot spicy sambal ikan pilis, half boiled egg, cucumber slices and fried peanuts all wrapped with banana leaf and waxed brown paper.
Be sure that you reach before 7am as most of the locals surrounding the area will drop by for breakfast before heading to work and send kids to school.

Lunch- Mabiq Restaurant
Mabiq restaurant is owned by Maahad Bahasa dan Ilmu Al-Quran (MaBIQ). The income of the restaurant is to support the Al-Quran school for orphans and the poor kids.
A must-try dish is Paeh Patin Tempoyak (grilled catfish with fermented durian wrapped with banana leaf). They also serve a variety of traditional Pahang dishes such as catfish with fermented durian (tempoyak ikan patin), smoked meat with chilies (daging salai cili api), fermented fish (ikan pekasam), and an assortment of fresh vegetables (ulam).

Tea Time/Dessert- Cendol Air Putih
This well known Cendol place has been operating since 1978 and is located in Jalan Air Putih. You can easily spot the big yellow signboard from the main road. Besides Cendol, they also provide traditional snacks and foods such as Nasi Lemak, curry puff, pulut panggang.
Recommended dish: Cendol, Nasi Lemak & Pulut panggang.

Dinner- Ana Ikan Bakar Petai
Kuantan River is home to many fishing boats on the shore of the river. This is a sure sign that fresh seafood is just round the corner. Ana Ikan Bakar Petai is located in the village of Tanjung Lumpur just across the Kuantan river from Kuantan town and is famously known as Ikan Bakar village. Their signature dish is Ikan Bakar Petai which the fish wrap with banana leaf topped with spicy-sweet homemade sour chilli paste. Customers are given the option to choose their own fish and seafoods such as squid, prawns, crabs and shellfish.

Supper- Terminal Satay Zul
Terminal Satay Zul serves what is widely regarded as one of the best satay in Malaysia and has been operating for more than 40 years. The seasoned char-grilled meats are soft, tender, juicy and the meat portion on the stick is pretty generous. The delicious peanut sauce tops it off.
