We were in Tai Chung for only one night as part of our island tour round Taiwan. The tour operator put us up in Miller Inn Hotel, which is a smallish hotel block of around 5 storeys. The hotel oozes a cozy and classy ambience. As we entered, the reception desk was right in front and the lobby cafe right next to it. You won’t get lost inside this hotel for sure. There were just a few tables in the indoor part of the cafe, which also opens up into a nice semi outdoor area with a few more tables. The semi-transparent roof brings in natural lighting which gives it a nice and bright effect.
Our Room was compact, just light most other tourist hotels in Taiwan it seems. But it was clean and modern with a comfy bed, the important things for a good night’s rest. The washing amenities were “Taiwan-style”, so there is no separate walk-in bathroom. Like many hotel modern hotels in Taiwan, space saving means that the wash basin is part of the room fextures, while the toilet and shower are separate cubicles in itself. The shower pressure was good although while using, it’s hard not to be concerned sub-consciously that water may flow out and flood the room.
The is a Family Mart next door to the hotel. Overall we had a very good and comfortable stay here.
We took the free shuttle van to the Feng Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市免費接駁車時刻表). The ride is less than 5 minutes but if you decide to walk there, it should be less than 15 minutes leisurely walk.
It’s worth trying the Jiang Mu Ya along the way. This is Ginger Duck in Hot Pot, a local favourite which is best eaten in cold weather. This was the restaurant we visited.
