Anze Tiandi Hotel, Hualien (安澤天地飯店- 花蓮市)

Scenic Hualien is a coastal town in Taiwan’s eastern seaboard. We passed through the town on a visit to Farglory Ocean Park and stayed in Anze (or Ance) hotel which is an older style property but featuring scenic views over the town.

The room we stayed in was old but decent. Was clean and well kept, and being a corner room had a window by the side wall above the bed head. We didn’t think much of the window as we arrived quite late in the evening. But when we woke up in the morning and drew the curtains, it was a nice surprise! Views of the sea by the front and city and mountains by through the side windows.

The bathroom was old school with granite/marble which in its glory days must have been something to marvel about.
Overall while the hotel is dated, we would rate it 6 to 7 out of 10 in terms of comfort. In addition to the scenic views, the bed was firm and comfortable, and the room’s plus size is great for those of us who need space to layout our luggage.

In terms of marketing, the hotel will do well to have an English name, but I guess it caters mainly for domestic visitors and is well known having been around for the longest time.
